ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Our goal is to build up the girl’s hockey community in Las Vegas and give girls the opportunity to learn to play hockey in a positive and healthy environment. One of the biggest barriers to growing girls’ hockey is that there are no programs specifically for girls to start playing and learning the game. In all entry level programs and leagues, girls are forced to compete with boys. They often drop out due to the physical and social challenges of being the only girl on a team. The Las Vegas Storm Girls Program is available for advanced players, but most girls give up on hockey before they get to experience being on an all-girls team. An additional barrier can be the costs associated with the equipment needed to play hockey especially when parents are not certain their child will continue with the sport. Our Girls Learn to Play program eliminates that concern by providing all necessary equipment in the cost of the program! We aim to bridge this gap with our all girls Learn to Play Program which will give the girls a chance to have the full team experience while they develop the hockey skills necessary to be successful at the next level.
