The Blade Training System
Coming to the Las Vegas Ice Center
Over the last several years, the appreciation and demand for off-ice training programs has grown and is now considered an integral part of most teams and players' development plans. Although individualized off-ice and testing programs increase core strength, agility, power and speed, there has been a missing link between off-ice training and skating development. Off-ice training increases upper and lower body strength, endurance and power, balance and coordination, biomechanical efficiency and cardiovascular conditioning, however, this growth does not always translate to an increase in efficiency, speed, power, balance and total body biomechanics while skating.
In an effort to address this, Las Vegas Ice will be installing the Blade hockey-specific training treadmill, designed to increase and maintain speed, correct skating mechanics, improve movements, stride length, and stride frequency.
